Webinar: Envisioning Better High Deductible Health Plans

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019

Please join Commonwealth and the Center for Health Experience Design  (CHXD) for this webinar to learn about new, innovative approaches to address the financial challenges faced by lower-income employees enrolled in high-deductible health plans (HDHP).

Whether you’re an employer, a health insurance provider, a Health Savings Account (HSA) administrator, or just someone who is interested in making HDHPs better, you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity.

Current HDHP Benefits Exacerbate Financial Insecurity

Medical expenses are the #1 cause of bankruptcy in the US. One of the factors that is increasingly contributing to financial insecurity is health expenses. Employees with an annual household income below $55,000, who often do not have access to financial resources such as savings and affordable credit, are particularly at risk of financial insecurity imposed by unexpected health expenses. This challenge is exacerbated if one’s health plan involves a high deductible that means the employee will initially have to over costs out of pocket.

New Solutions for Balancing Health and Financial Needs at Open Enrollment

Commonwealth partnered with the Center for Health Experience Design  to launch a design & innovation challenge to prompt the financial, healthcare, and design communities to envision novel solutions to support employees with household incomes under $55,000 to balance their health and financial needs at open enrollment.

Please join us as we share insights from our research and the winning solutions submitted as part of this design challenge that will help you improve your HDHP benefit offerings.
