When writing for healthcare, we’re often told to use “plain language.” But what does that mean? And how do you do it without being dry and boring?
In this session, we’ll look at how to write with clear concise language that’s inclusive, accessible, and fun. We’ll look at examples of plain language, and review a checklist of steps to take and tools to use to check that your language is inclusive and clear.

- understand what separates plain language from other content
- feel comfortable and confident using readability and SEO tools
- know how to measure the success of plain language across a specific population
- gain confidence in looking for resources to reduce jargon and clarify language
