If you have ever brought your pet to a vet, you know that it a different experience than when you go to the doctor. For example, you know the costs upfront, diagnostics and treatment for challenging conditions move faster, and there is great attention paid to the emotions of the pet parent. How might we learn and partner with veterinarians to improve the health of both us humans and our pets?
Human health and animal health have historically been treated as two separate domains. In recent years, it has become increasingly clear that human health (including mental health as impacted by the human-animal bond phenomenon) and animal health are inextricably linked.
In this talk, you will learn how veterinary medicine is designed and how it differs from human health care, and we will discuss how current innovations in pet health can inspire changes in human health care.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- How veterinary health care differs from human health care
- How cost transparency impacts care decisions
- How veterinary health innovation can inspire human health innovation
